The true nature ! Away from crowded areas, the Oise loop is the favored place for birds and a great varieties of species have settled there on a permanent or an intermittent basis..
Winter is their favourite season. More than 145 species are inventoried in the Leisure center. Most of them do not spend much time there. However, certain sedentary birds reproduce in quieter places : great crested grebes, the mute swans, mallards, gallinule-moorhens, coots, lapwings and little ringed plovers. Other birds, sedentary or migrating one, stay on the ponds : little grebes, grey herons, great cormorants, wigeons, gadwalls, teals and garnaneys, shovelers, pochards, tufted ducks, scaups, velvet scoters, common scoters, smews, goosanders, black-headed gulls, herring gulls, lesser black-backed gulls, common gulls and kingfishers.
Besides, other birds usually living in humid areas, spend there a couple of hours or a couple of days : avocets, golden plovers, curlews, turnstones, little terns, little egrets …
Wood bird species do not seem to be bothered by the presence of people : insectivores : great spotted wookpeckers, woodpeckers, lesser spotted woodpeckers, wrens, dunnocks, robins, tits, nuthatches, treecreepers, siskins in winter … live all year long in the Leisure center.
For groups with young people, half-day ornithological presentation possible all over the year.
